Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Jinyun Mountain / Lion Peak / Pianyan Old Town (-/ L/ D)
After breakfast, you will have an excursion to Jinyun Mountain which takes about 2 hours drive. With the altitude of 980 meters, nine peaks standing aloft, surrounded by the exuberant trees and bamboos, the Jinyun Mountain gets a reputation--"Small E-mei Mountain" and is a good resort place in summer. The Lion Peak is the steepest and most spectacular among the nine peaks and standing on the top you can have a panoramic view of the majestic Huaying Mountain, ribbonlike Jialing River and beautiful Beibei City. After lunch, you will move to Pianyan Old Town, at the foothill of Huaying Mountain, where traders and businessmen gathered had built by Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty. Strolling along the 400 meters long, 2 meter wide ancient street, you can see the local people and experience their simple life style. Stay overnight in Beibei.
Day 2: Jindao Gorge Scenic Spot / Northern Hot Springs (B/ L/ D)
Today your trip starts from enjoying Jindao Gorge Scenic Spot, located at the foot of the Beinbei district, with the altitude of 825 meters. It is a miraculous gorge with its original primitive and mysterious style and features by its peacefulness and special karst landscape. Due to the famous ten miles plank road built along a cliff, this spot gets the reputation as "The First Dangerous Gorge in China". Followed by the Northern Hot Springs, at the foot of Jinyun Mountain where you can enjoy a beautiful scenic area comprising temples, hills, water, woods, springs, gorges and caves, and escape from the pressures of city life. After this, you will be driven back to Chongqing.
Day 3: Chongqing Zoo / People's Congress Hall / Eling Park / Ciqikou Ancient Town (B/ L/ D)
Today you will enjoy a full-day city tour in urban Chongqing. It starts from Chongqing Zoo, located in the western suburbs of Chongqing. There are more than 230 kinds of rare wild animals on display in the zoo and the pandas are always the focus among all the residents in the zoo. Then head for the People's Congress Hall, which was built in 1954 as a conference hall to commemorate Chongqing's important wartime role. It is inspired by Beijing's Temple of Heaven with three tiers of red-pillared eaves beneath a blue canopied roof. Then you will move to the Eling Park (Goose Neck Park), where offers a grand view of both the city and the roiling Yangtze River. After that, you will have lunch and take a good rest. In the afternoon, you will continue to Ciqikou Old Town, which was founded 1700 years ago on the banks of Jialing RIver and a famous porcelain production center during the Ming Dynasty. It was once the home of many of Chongqing's rich merchants, where you can still see lots of Ming and Qing dynasty architecture, local shops, tea houses, local Sichuan street performance and so on. After your trip, you will be transferred back to Chongqing.
