Tour Features:Canal Towns in Jiangnan include Suzhou, Zhouzhuang, Wuxi and Nanjing, which are well-known for their typical Southern Chinese river-side scenery featured by small bridges, murmuring streams and elegant dwellings, and are the ideal destinations for relaxation and holiday-spending. By this tour, you will visit most of the highlights of these 4 places and experience the leisure life style in the south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River.

Day by Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Suzhou / Zhouzhuang (-/ L/ D)

Upon arrive in Suzhou, which is often referred to as the Venice of the East, you will be met and transported to the hotel. After a short rest, you will tour Zhouzhuang, a town with more than one thousand years history near Suzhou, where you will experience the serene country lifestyle of the local residents. There you will visit the Old World architecture and observe the local customs that have been so well preserved. Go back and stay in Suzhou.

Day 2: Suzhou / Wuxi (B/ L/ D)

Today you will cruise on the world-famous, ancient Grand Canal, which is more than 1400 years old. On this cruise you will experience the unique culture and catch a glimpse of the daily life of the local residents. Then visit the silk spinning factory, where you will watch a fashion show and have the opportunity to purchase silk products. Afterwards, explore the Lingering Garden and the Ancient Panmen Gate the only existing water and land gate in China. You will then head for the city of Wuxi, the land of fish and rice, where you will stay overnight.

Day 3: Wuxi / Nanjing (B/ L/ D)

The highlight today is a tour of the beautiful Lake Tai , the third largest fresh lake in China. Then visit the famous pearl factory which produces the best jewelry in China. In fact, these fresh-water pearls of Tai Lake are as pretty and precious as Mikimoto pearls in Japan and Tahitian pearls in the Pacific Ocean. The ideal depth of Lake Tai and the right amount of nutrients in the water create colorful and lustrous fresh-water pearls. In the afternoon head for Nanjing, one of the most important ancient capital cities in China. Upon arrival, you will visit Dr. Sun Yat Sen's tomb. Dr. Sun is known as The Father of the Revolution or The Father of the Republic in the twentieth century of China. Then visit the city wall of more than 600 years and the biggest city gate in the world-Zhonghua City Gate. In the evening, enjoy the night view of Qinhuai River.

Day 4: Nanjing / Departure (B/ -/ -)
