Day by Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Lhasa / Basomtso / Nyingchi (470km, asphalt road, 8 hour dirve)

After breakfast, drive to Basomtso. It is a fantastic lake that hides among the mountains and valleys. The flowers in spring, green trees in summer, and golden fruits in autumn and white snow in winter all suggest that this is real "Jiangnan of Tibet". It spreads like a huge crescent that goes 12 kilometers long and covers 25.9 square kilometers. You can visit the Cuosong Temple on the eyot. Then drive to Nyingchi, known as 'Tibetan Jiangnan', which means those regions to the south of the Yangtze River. In Tibetan language it means 'the throne of the sun'. It is located in southeast Tibet, where the Himalaya Mountains and Nyainqentanglha Mountains extend from west to east, like parallel huge dragons, to join the Hengduan Mountains in the east. In the evening, you will stay overnight in Bayi Town, Nyingchi.
Tips: The time spent on the way is a little long, but you will enjoy the beautiful scenery, so you will not feel boring. The altitude is not very high, and you needn’t worry about the altitude sickness.

Day 2: Bayi / Pailong / Duochi (hiking for about 7 hours) (B/ L/ D)

Set off from Bayi Town. Cross Mt. Segrila (4,700m) and go downhill. In the afternoon you will reach Yuanpailong Moinba ethnic autonomous village. Depart from Pailong Canyon management station. After proceeding on foot for ten minutes, you will stride over the first hanging bridge-Chulong Bridge. Then you will enter the canyon area. Move on along the Rong River. You will arrive at the junction of Yigong River and Rong River in half an hour. Continue to proceed in the forest along the Pailong River. Finally you will reach the encampment-Duochi. It's the best encampment because it’s beautiful and safe. You needn’t worry about the danger of mud-rock flow and leeches.

Day 3: Duochi / Zhaqu (8 hour drive) (B /L/ D)

Set off from Duochi. Enter the most beautiful valley of Pailong River. You will pass the narrowest part of Pailong cave-Kangzhuo Bridge. Then cross the Qingma Hill at the high speed. After proceeding in the virgin forest (leech area) for two hours, finally you will reach Zhaqu Village. The highest peak stands to the north of Zhaqu Village. Its altitude is more than 5,000m. That's the thick virgin forest below the snow line. The avalanche and mud-rock slide will not happen in this area because of the gentle slope and thick vegetation. The charm of Zhaqu village is not only the U shaped big bend but also various species resources and ingenuous folklore. You can see the tropical rain forest, fernleaf hedge bamboo, crisscross vines and house built on stilts. In the evening, lodge in the Zhaqu reception center.

Day 4:Zhaqu / Duochi (5 hour drive) (B/ L/ D)

Visit Zhaqu Village in the morning. Zhaqu Village in the morning is so fantastic. Light clouds fold the vilage with the breeze flicking the clouds. The houses built on stilts, flocks and herds, pices of farmland compose a fantastic idyllic picture. It's so quite that you can only hear the patter and the sound of turning prayer wheel. The top of Yaluzangbu River Big Bend is to the south of Zhaqu village. Standing on the best view spot, you can have a bird view of the Big Bend. You will see the Palongzangbu River runs from the west and suddenly runs to the south, then converges with the Yaluzangbu River and they dash out the mountain gate. The earsplitting sound resounds in the great canyon. After appreciating the Great Bend of Yaluzangbu River, Mt. Namjagbarwa and Mt. JiaLabailei, go back to Duochi Cave to encamp.
Stay overnight in the tent.

Day 5: Duochi / Pailong / Bayi (hiking for 5 hours) (B/L/D)

Return Bayi Town including 5-hour hiking.

Day 6: Bayi Town / Lhasa (B/L/D)

In the morning you will visit the Giant Cypress Forest and the King Cypress with a history of 2,500 years. Then go back to Lhasa along the Niyang River. You will enjoy the fantastic scenery of the virgin forest and grassland as well as the Tibetan houses. This tour will be finished in Lhasa.
