Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Beijing (-, L, -)
Upon arrive in Beijing, you will be met at Beijing Airport or Beijing Train Station by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel by the privite car. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or step out to discover what this amazing city has to offer.
Day 2: Beijing Incity Tour (B, L, SD)
After breakfast in the hotel, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and your adventure begins from Tiananmen Square, which is the heart of Beijing city and the largest public space on earth.
Step to the north of Tiananmen Square, walk through the Gate of Heavenly Peace and you will come into the Forbidden City which served as the home of the Emperor and his household, as well as the ceremonial and political centre of Chinese government from the Ming Dynasy to the end of the Qing Dynasty for almost 500 years. The Forbidden City is the world's largest complex palace with perfectly preserved palaces, temples, magnificent squares and royal gardens. You'll stroll on the cobblestone paths once only for the Emperor's most intimate advisors who were invited to the private apartments of the emperors' concubines and to appreciate the most stunning and valuable collections of art, furniture, and jewelry.
You will then proceed to the Temple of Heaven, where the Emperors worshipped the Heaven for favorable weather and good harvest in the coming year.
Your dinner this evening will be served with a delicious Beijing Roast Duck Dinner in the famous century-old restaurant named Quanjude.
After dinner, the following is a lively Peking Opera performance in the Liyuan Theatre.
Day 3: Badaling Great Wall (B, L, -)
This morning you will be away from the bustle and traffic in Beijing and go through the countryside to see Badaling Great Wall which is a symbol of Chinese civilization and was listed among the New Seven Wonders of the World. Badaling Great Wall is situated in Yanqing County, over 70 kilometres (43 miles) north of Beijing. It is the most well-preserved section of the Great Wall, built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Here you will experience at first hand one of the Wonders of the World. Differed from the other normal tours that have lunch in the shopping site restaurant, we specially arrange your lunch served in a popular local Sichuan food restaurant.
After lunch, you will take a trip to the Sacred Way (or Divine Road) which means the road leading to heaven and is often lined with stone statues, and the Ming Tomb on the southern slope of Mount Taishou. The Ming Tomb is the general name given to the mausoleums of 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). Because of its long history, palatial and integrated architecture, the site has a high cultural and historic value. Then we will dirve back to Beijing City, 50 km away form here. In order to make sure that you have a good appetite, we specially arrange your dinner this evening a la carte in a famous restaurant in the Wangfujing district.
Day 4: Summer Palace, Hutong (-, L, -)
Today you will proceed to the Summer Palace "a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design" in the northwest suburban Beijing. It is the largest and most complete imperial garden existing in China. The natural landscape of hills and open water is combined with artificial features such as pavilions, halls, palaces, temples and bridges to form a harmonious ensemble of outstanding aesthetic value.
After lunch, you'll forget about the skyscrapers and construction cranes of modern Beijing as you venture into Hutong, which is an ancient alley or lane typical in Beijing, formed the residential area, dispearing quickly. You'll bicycle or ride rickshaws down narrow lanes and alleyways, passing vegetable markets, traditional medicine shops and tiny, wooden teahouses. Hutong is where the civilian lived, and telling the story of the rest.
Day 5: Departure from Beijing (-, L, -)
Today we will take a visit in the Beihai Park(North Sea) Park. It is the oldest largest and best-preserved imperial garden and Lama Monastery in China located in the center of Beijing. This ancient garden, with over 1,000 years history, is not only a classic combination of the grandiosity of the northern gardens and the refinement of the southern gardens in China, but also a perfect integration of magnificent imperial palaces and solemn religious constructions.
Then be transferred to Beijing Airport or Beijing Train Station for your departure.
