The magnificent and solemn palace will arouse your imagination regarding the life of Chinese emperors. You will be free in the morning until being transferred to the airport in time for your flight to Xi'an which is of the oldest cities in China. Xi'an was the national capital for over 1,000 years and was also the starting point of the Silk Road. On arrival we will take a half-hour's hike along the Ancient City Wall to familiarize ourselves with this fascinating cross cultural city. For the energetic we recommend a ride bike along the top of the wall (Bikes can be rented for around 20 yuan/hour). Day 5 Xi'an (B, L, -)

After breakfast in the hotel, you will set off for the incredible 2000 year-old Terra cotta warriors. The Warriors are part of the underground tomb of the Emperor Qin. Well over 7000 figures in full battle array are formed for battle in several large pits. Many of the figures - soldiers, archers, horses and chariots have been restored. The repairs and excavations continue at the site where you can see both repaired and broken warriors in a truly impressive display. There is also an excellent museum which includes bronze chariots unearthed nearby, and a film about the history and discovery of the tomb. It will takes about 15 minutes to walk from parking place to the entrance, so we have provided an electric car to make the day a little easier. In the afternoon we’re going to the Bell Tower where you can get a bird’s view of the city from the top. There is a music performance of the ancient music and a display of the instruments. We will continue to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda where widely renowned Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his collection of classic Buddhist artifacts brought from India.

Day 6 Xi'an - Guilin ( B, L ,-)

The last stop in Xi'an is the Grand Mosque which is one of the four grand Islamic mosques in China and has a history of more than 1,200 years. The mosque's architecture combines traditional Muslim and Chinese styles. In the afternoon your guide will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Guilin.

Day 7 Guilin (B, L, -)

Guilin is famous for its stunning scenery, and the best way to see it is from the deck of a Li River Cruise boat. The boats leave from various wharves, according to river height at different times of the year, and you'll be transferred to the appropriate pier for an unforgettable trip downriver to the lovely old town of Yangshuo. You can spend the afternoon exploring some of Yang Shuo's best attractions. Moon Hill requires some hiking but it's worth the effort to climb this unusual formation just for the view. Don't forget to wear your hiking shoes as there are quite a few steps to climb. Before returning to Guilin by private bus, we stop at the Big Banyan Tree. It dates to the Jin Dynasty more than 1400 years old and is famous for its towering beauty.

Today's agenda features Guilin. Elephant Trunk Hill (which really does look like an elephant drinking from the river) and Reed Flute Cave ( which is a vast and very impressive cave system) are two of the best attractions in the city. Make sure you have plenty of small change with you at the caves - the children there sell flutes for about 1 yuan, and if you only have an American dollar, you're likely to end up with a whole basketful of flutes! You fly on to Hong Kong in the afternoon.

Day 9 Hong Kong (B, L, -)

Hong Kong is a fascinating combination of East and West, but it has its own unique and distinctive culture. Your half day tour will take in Victoria Peak, Hong Kong's number one tourist destination. It features the 112 year old Peak Tram and Hong Kong's most unusual building, the Peak Tower. Next stop is Aberdeen Harbor which is home to hundreds of people living on fishing junks. If you would like a close up look at this unusual way of life, you can take a sampan ride (US$10-12). Repulse Bay is the last stop today; it is one of Hong Kong’s most exclusive residential areas.
