Guangzhou (Chinese: 广州; pinyin: Guǎngzhōu) is the capital of Guangdong Province in South China. It is also known by an older English name as Canton.
With the rapid development at an amazing speed after the liberation of China, Guangzhou is a modern city today as well as the centre of Lingnan Culture, the communication hub and the largest trade port in South China. It locates in the southeast of Guangdong Province and the north of the Pearl River, facing the South China Sea and neighboring with Hong Kong and Macao.
Guangzhou owns nick names of "Rams City" and "Flower City" etc. Guangzhou got the name of "Rams City" from the Five-Ram Sculpture in the Yuexiu Park which is the emblem of Guangzhou City.
Guangzhou City is not only famous for its flourishing economies and opened trade business but also famous for its foods and attractions.
