	Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Center has been created and imitated the pandas' natural habitat in order that they might have the best environment for breeding. Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding & Research Base (Chinese: 成都大熊猫繁殖基地；pinyin: chéngdūdàxióngmāofánzhíjīdì): Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding & Research Base is located 18km from the city center. The high mountain and deep valley is the panda research center and 80% pandas peculiar in China are breeding and multiplying here. Giant panda is an endangered species whose childlike charms have captivated so many people. Nicknamed as “ living fossil” and “national treasure”, it is the mascot of the World Wildlife Foundation. Sichuan is a natural habitat of the giant panda, and among the 1,000 living giant pandas in the world now, 85 percent of them are found in Sichuan. As a demonstration project of giant panda conservation, the Panda Base has not only dedicated itself to giant panda conservation, but has also made great efforts to combine natural scenery and man-made landscapes to create wonderful and humane living areas for giant pandas, red pandas, and other Chinese endangered animals.
