| Wannian Temple (Chinese: 万年寺;pinyin: wànniánsì): Wannian Temple is the oldest surviving building on Emei which dates to 1611. Within the beamless hall of the Wannian Temple, a hall with outstanding architectural features, towers a bronze statue of Samantabhadra or Puxian riding an elephant which was cast during the Song Dynasty (960-1279). It is 7.85 meters high and weighs 62 tons and is of supurb craftsmanship. Outside Wannian temple is a cablecar which can take tourists up to the Golden Summit. |
