The Crescent Moon Lake

It is praised as the first spring in the desert.
Crescent Moon Lake (Chinese: 月牙泉； pinyin: yùeyáquán), a crescent-shaped freshwater lake in the oasis that has been a vital source of water for thousands of years. Because of the special crescent landform the sands do not smother the spring during the past thousands of years. It is eternally in a harmonious and almost paradoxical existence and has become a natural wonder in the Gobi Desert. The water of the lake is limpid and sweet. Groups of fish swim in the spring happily and the grass grows along the edge of the lake.
