| Hecang Fortress (Chinese: 河仓城；pinyin: hécāngchéng) also called Square City, which is 20 kilometers away from Yumenquan Pass, was once a vital supply depot for the Chinese military. The ancient people took advantage of this landform and built a quartermaster depot there. The armies that guarded the Yumenguan Pass and Yangguan Pass could not be supplied without the presence of Hecang Fortress. |
