The Folded Brocade Hill(chinese:叠彩山, Pinyin: Diécǎishān) lies in the Northeast of Guilin, facing the Li River. The Folded Brocade Hill covers an area of approximately 2 square kilometers. It consists of the Bright Moon Peak, the Red-crowned Crane Peak, the Siwang Hill and the Yuyue Hill. Spanning the Guilin City, the Brocade Hill is very picturesque and easy to climb, and has become a hot scenic spot among the hills in Guilin. There are a lot of tourist attractions in the hill, such as the Folded Brocade Pavilion, the Yuyue Pavilion, the Chengren Tablet of Masters Qu and Zhang, the Yangzhi Hall, the Wind Cave, the Brocade Building, the Wangjiang Pavilion and the Nayun Pavilion, etc. on the hill are many cliff inscriptions of celebrities in different dynasties, which are the cream of the antiques.
If you climb up the Moon Peak and stand in the Nayun Pavilion, you will get a bird's-eye view of the whole city. During the five-hundred-step climbing, tourist enjoys the nice flavor from the trees and flowers and the singing of different birds. All these make tourist feel themselves in wonderland.
Wind cave is a tunnel tourist has to go through if they want to reach the top. It’s located on the half way of the hill, is famous for 90 Buddha images of the Tang and Song dynasties, as well as dozens of ancient stone carvings inside. Here is good place to make a stop and to see the original carved painting, carved calligraphy and Buddhist statues of ancient time.
Cloud-catching pavilion is built on the top of the hill, from which tourist has a nice view of the city.
