Dongshan Mountain

Dongshan Mountain is renowned as "The First Mountain of Hainan" for its unique rock and peaks rising one after another.
Dongshan Mountain (Chinese: 东山; pinyin: Dōngshān) is renowned as "The First Mountain of Hainan". While Wuzhi Mountain is well known for its fantastic shape, Dongshan Mountain is for its unique rock and peaks rising one after another. Travel to Dongshan Mountain, tourists can enjoy the unique landscape of mountain and sea as well as the different stone carvings of ancient people.

Dongshan Mountain rises up from the middle of Hainan Island with the highest peak of about 184 kilometers. On the mountain you can see the subtropical trees growing very thick and green and the clear streams flowing in the forest. There are more than 100 scenic spots on the mountain. The most famous is the "Sea Eyes".

It goes a legend that a famous minister Ligang, who was suffered from the Surrender Grouping in court in late Song Dynasty, and finally he resucceed there. So people modeled a statue for him to show respect and placed in the Chaoyin Temple. Nowadays, when people meet difficulties or bad luck, they will go to Dongshan Mountain to worship him and then can get encourage.

Dongshan Mountain is a mysterious mountain one can receive good luck there.
