East Lake Park

East Lake is the biggest "City Lake" in China.

East Lake Park (Chinese: 东湖; pinyin: Dōnghú) is the biggest "City Lake" in China, famous for its convenient transportation and is also named as "the thoroughfare to nine provinces".

Located in the east of Wuhan City, it is the biggest tourist centre of ancient Chu culture. Rich Cultural Heritage is one feature of the East Lake Park and it revives the Chu style and Chu charm. Nationwide famous scenic spots can see in the park including the Xingyin Pavilion. Lisao Tomb gains its reputation for the beautiful lyrics on it, the Chu Heaven Platform, which is located at the peak of the Mo Mountain, offers a platform to overlook the whole city. A lot of ancient celebrities are introduced in the Chu Talent Park. There are also some other renowned and inspiring scenic spots such as Chu Bazarre, Quyuan Statue and Quyuan Memorial.

The sight of the lake is beautiful and fascinate. The four zones of the park, Tingtao Zone (wave listening), Mo Mountain, Chuidi Zone (flute playing) and Luoyan Zone (wild goose perching), with over 1000 scenery spots, are opened to public. Go to the park, you can enjoy the full blossom flowers, the lush hills, the bird songs and the clear and sparkling lakes. Inside the park are many unique gardens, such as the Plum Garden, the Lotus Garden, the Sakura (cherry blossom) Garden and so on. The Sakura Garden is one of three famous sakura gardens in the world beside the Hirosaki Sakura Garden in Japan and Washington Sakura Garden in America.

In a word, the East Lake Park is the sea of flowers and the world of water as well. "Festivals every month, flowers every season" adds to the charm of East Lake. Every year, colorful festivals with different themes are held in the park and attract lots of tourists.
