End of the World

End of the World is a perfect harmonization of nature's palette.

End of the World (Chinese:天涯海角; pinyin: Tiānyá Hǎijiǎo) meaning the remotest corner of the earth, is one of the most popular and famous places for domestic tourists not only for its spectacular beaches and expansive ocean view but also for its outstanding title and rich history.

Located about 23 kilometers west of Sanya City, the End of the World is a perfect harmonization of nature's palette, with bleached white sands, turquoise seas, deep blue skies and lush green hills.

Rising over the beach are two ancient rocks. On one of the huge stones, two Chinese words are written:" Tian Ya" (the edge of the sky) which was written by Chengzhe, chief magistrate of Yazhou City during the reign of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty. On the other huge stone behind it, there is inscribed two other Chinese words "Hai Jiao" (the utmost end of the sea). Because of that End of the World has gone far beyond a reference to geographical distance, it has become a symbol of friendship, love and life.

Referring to the two huge stones, there are some folk stories passing down. Besides the stones, modern facilities such as the Shopping Center, the Li Ethnic Group Village and the Celebrity Sculpture make End of the World vivid, modern and amazing. An international wedding festival is celebrated in End of the World every year. Around the Mid Autumn Day, there is a Lantern Festival, which adds to the special atmosphere.
