	Hongfeng Lake Scenic Area
	Hongfeng Lake is the largest man-made lake on the Guizhou Plateau. It is divided into four scenic areas, namely the north lake, the south lake, the Rear Lake and the minority ethnic villages. The vast lake is crystal clear dotted with over 190 islands.
Hongfeng Lake (Chinese: 红枫湖；pinyin: hóng fēng hú): Hongfeng Lake is the largest artificial lake in Guizhou Plateau and it is six times as large as the famous West Lake in Hangzhou. Its surface covers 57.2 square kilometers (22 square miles) and it is dotted with more than 170 islands and islets. It consists of four parts-the North Lake, the South Lake, the Rear Lake and the minority ethnic villages. The north lake is famous for its islands, such as Bird Island, Snake Island, and Tortoises Island, etc. A group of tombs of the Western Han Dynasty (206BC-8AD) and a Miao King's Camp of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) are situated on the lakeside. While the South Lake is renowned for its caves. Autumn is the best time to visit it and visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the lakes and mountains by boat. There are many red maple trees on the surrounding mountain ranges whose leaves turn red every fall - hence the lake's name. Hongfeng Lake is beautiful and serene and is an ideal tourist destination.
