Hanpo Pass

Hanpo Pass is a mouth-like valley just like a mouth to exhaust the vast Poyang Lake and it is also an ideal place to enjoy the sunrise.
Hanpo Pass (Chinese: 含鄱口; pinyin: Hánpō Kǒu) is a mouth-like valley standing in the place where the Five-Old-Man peaks and Hanyang peaks meet. The valley gained the name because it is like a mouth to exhaust the vast Poyang Lake.

The Hanpo Pass has a height of 1,286 meters and with the Poyang Lake running on the foot of it. The Poyang Lake’s extensive surface is dotted with thousands of boats which looks like the stars decorate on the surface. Mountain range stone on the pass includes Hanpo Pavilion, Wangpo Pavilion, which are in harmony with the spectacle of the lakes and mountains.

Hanpo Pavilion is an ideal place to view the sunrise. To the east of Three-Step Spring is the Peak of the Five Old Men where a waterfall cascades from rock to rock in a total drop of 300 meters. From this mountain pass overlooking the vast and misty Poyang Lake, visitors can see the junk-dotted lake blending with the sky and the towering Hanyang and Litoujian peaks shrouded in clouds and mist.
