Jinggang Mountain is a lush and precipitous mountain, known as “the cradle of the Chinese Revolution”. |
Jinggang Mountain (Chinese: 井冈山; pinyin: Jǐnggāng Shān) is a lush and precipitous mountain, known as “the cradle of the Chinese Revolution” because it is the first rural revolutionary base set up by Mao Zedong during the second Cavil Revolutionary War.
The Jinggang Mountain is located in the west of Jiangxi Province, covering 670 square kilometers.
The breathtaking mountain boasts lots of peaks, waterfalls and pools. The peaks are unique in shape, of the peaks, some look like tigers leaping over the deep stream, appearing in all their glory as if they were made by uncanny craftsmanship. The highest peak is the Five Fingers Peak, which is the symbol of Jinggang Mountain with a height of 1,583 meters. It resembles five fingers and famous for the print of its picture on 100-yuan RMB bill. The Nanping Peak, a sheer rise of thousands of feet, stretches for tens of miles, with hard rocks rocketing into the sky. The rocks in the shape of birds of beasts look so lifelike that they seem to change according to your imagination.
The streams in the mountain enjoy a strong flow and a great drop while the waterfalls are grand and marvelous. The landscape of the eighteen giant waterfalls of five large pools attracts thousands of visitors from home and abroad. When you visit the Jinggang Mountain, you will also like its mist. The mist evaporating from the forests is changing all the time. When floating halfway up to the mountain, it becomes strips of clouds; when drifting among the peaks, it turns into the valley for. If the shines cover the clouds at the moment, a fantastic mirage will appear.
Besides the beautiful scenery, there are 29 well-preserved sites witnessing the revolutionary battles in Jinggang Mountain. Among them, ten have been listed as the country’s historical sites under key protection.
The major scenic spots in the mountain are Ciping, Huangyangjie Post, Dragon Pond, the highest peak, Tongmuling Post, Xiangzhou Area, Bijia Mountain and Xiankou Area. |
