It is about 5,000 m long from east to west and fascinating for its magnificant and mysterious scenery. In Uighur, Keziliya means "red cliff" because of the huge reddish and brownish sandstones around the canyon. They were formed of different odd shapes due to millions of years' wind and rain erosion. The narrowest part in the canyon is only 0.4 m. Now more and more people come to see this wonder of the nature. |
