| (Chinese: 莫尔佛塔;pinyin: mòěrfótǎ): Mor Pagoda, built in the Tang dynasty with a history of more than 1,000 years, is a large stupa for worshipping Buddhas. It is a 12-meter-high oval shape earthen pagoda, hollowed inside, but the Buddha statues in the shrines of the pagoda disappeared due to the natural erosion. It once was the centeral construction of a temple here and was said to have been visited by the monk Xuanzang on his historic journey to India. |
