Subashi Ruins

Subashi is a lost city located in the Taklamakan Desert, on the ancient Silk Road, near Kucha.
(Chinese: 苏巴什古城；pinyin: sūbāshígǔchéng): Subashi is a lost city located in the Takla Makan Desert, on the ancient Silk Road, near Kucha. It was abandoned in the 12th century. The Subashi Ruins occupy a relatively large area and are divided by Kuqa River into eastern and western areas. The street plan can still be seen amongst the ruins and some of the 6-meter high (20 feet) high city walls are still standing there. Today only the ruins of Subashi Temple remain and the extent of the ruins reflects the temple's past brilliance.
