Guanyin Statue of Hainan

Guanyin Statue of Hainan is 108 meters tall statue of the bodhisattva Guanyin, honored the reputation of "the No.1 statue project in the world as well as the century".
Guanyin Statue (Chinese: 金玉观音; pinyin: Jīnyù Guānyīn) of Hainan is also known as Guanyin of the South Sea of Sanya, 108 meters tall statue of the bodhisattva Guanyin, sited on the south coast of China’s island province Hainan in the Nanshan Culture Tourism Zone near the Nanshan Temple.

Guanyin Statue of Hainan, currently the third tallest statue in the world, has been put into the World Guinness Record and honored the reputation of "the No.1 statue project in the world as well as the century".

The statue took six years to build and was enshrined on April 24, 2005. It has three aspects; one side faces inland and the other two sides face the South China Sea, to represent blessing and protection by Guanyin of China and the whole world.
