Liujiaxia Reservoir

It is a major dam along the middle upper part of the Yellow River.
Situated in the southwest of Yongjing County, people honor Liujiaxia Reservoir (Chinese: 刘家峡；pinyin: liújiāxiá) as a pearl of the Yellow River. The dam is 147 meters high and 840 meters long. A water cannel which is 700 meters long, 80 meters wide is on the right side of the dam. On the dam of Liujiaxia Reservoir, ships supplied by the Liujiaxia Gorge Hydropower Station. Visitors can take these ships to visit the Bingling Cave, which is situated in the southwest end of the reservoir. August and September are the best time to travel there. The Yellow River is a magic scenery in here. One of the so-called Nine Bends of Yellow River can be seen in Liujiaxia Gorge.
