The Li River or Li Jiang (Chinese: 漓江, pinyin: Lí Jiāng), originated in Mountain Mao'er at Xin'an county northeast of Guilin, Li River winds its way southeast for about 437 km and boasts the largest and most beautiful scenic area in China. Originated from the Cat Mountain in the Xing'an County which is to the north of Guilin, Li River runs through the whole eastern area of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The 83-km-long waterway from Guilin to Yangshuo is the masterpiece of Li River, decorated with rolling hills, steep cliffs, fantastic caves, leisurely boats and lined bamboos. Cormorant fishing is often associated with the Li River. Cruise along Li River, you will be inspired by the breathtaking views of peaks and pinnacles, crystal-clear water and reflections in the water together with the serene pastoral views of rice paddies and water buffaloes.
