Luhuitou Hill, a 280-meter-high hill, is a famous range extending in the shape of an enthralling deer looking back.

Luhuitou Peninsula (Chinese: 鹿回头半岛; pinyin: Lùhuítóu Bàndǎo) is famous for its main peak—Luhuitou Hill, a 280-meter-high hill which is actual a range extending in the shape of an enthralling deer looking back.

Luhuitou Peninsula is located 5 kilometers south of Sanya, perched on the edge of the South China Sea. Now more than 200 households of Li Minority live in the Luhuitou Peninsula. The vivid name of Luhuitou which means deer looking back comes from the legend attached to it. No matter who come here, the Li villagers will be glad to tell he the story. By the reason of the legend, Sanya is also known as "Dear City".

On the top of the Luhuitou Hill stands a huge sculpture which represents the moving scene of the romantic love story. Now, the Luhuitou Peninsula is entitled as the park of love and ecology and is also the center of vegetation preservation zone of Sanya which has well-protected tropical forest and natural ecology with many precious species.

The sights there are beautiful. Dense coconut trees, bright colored tropical flowers, blue waves, white sands and cool weather make Luhuitou Peninsula an ideal place and resort for people to visit especially in winter. It is also a pleasant place to enjoy the sunrise and sunset, and overview the downtown area of Sanya City.
