Li & Miao Ethnic Village is a good place to experience the Li & Miao Minority characters.

Li & Miao Ethnic Village (Chinese: 黎苗寨; pinyin: Límiáozhài) lives the two biggest minorities of Hainan—Li Minority and Miao Minority. Some Li & Miao Ethnic Villages are remote, often on the foot or in the middle of the mountain, not very convenient to drive but suit to walk there. A famous Li & Miao Ethnic Village is at Tushuihe in Hainan.

The villagers are very kind and warm welcome to the tourists. When reach the Li & Miao Ethnic Village, you have to walk through by both the side of Li beautiful ladies and they will touch you ear to show welcome, while the Miao people will touch your buttock by theirs for welcome.

As the village lie at the foot or stand against the mountain, there are abundant coconut palms and rubber trees in the village. Besides, streams flow through the villages and flowers are bloomed all the year round. Commonly, the house of Li Minority is built like a boat and the Miao’s is built with the bamboo.

Visiting to the village, you can experience something different from other scenery spots. The Li and Miao people are good at singing and dancing, you can learn to dance the bamboo dance of Li Minority when you enter the village. On March 3 of every year, there will be held large party for people getting together to sing. Li brocades are very beautiful and famous; you can often see the old grandma sitting at the doorway plaiting the brocades. In the village, you can also taste unique foods such as five-color sticky rice.
