Nanwan Monkey Island (Chinese: 南湾猴岛; pinyin: Nánwān Hóudǎo) is the only tropical island-type nature reserve for macaques which is a state protected animal in China.
Nanwan Monkey Island is located about 14 kilometers south of Lingshui County and is surrounded on three sides by sea. It covers an area of 10.2 square kilometers, owning 2500 monkeys living in the island. The Island is known for its beautiful scenery and has been rated as one of the top ten attractions in Hainan.

The island is a paradise to the monkey by its green seaside tropical environment marked by forests, rocky ridges, caves and an abundance of fruit. Monkeys get along well with other animals and the animals and plants live in harmony on the island. The monkey there is lovely and clever, when they want to get food from you, they will make fun to you or perform to you.

In the island, the longest over-water cable car ride in China, the tropical vistas and a rare glimpse at Rhesus Monkey will make you pleasant. Making a trip to this island is a wonderful experience. The Monkey Island will offer a combination of natural scenery, local custom, and exotic cuisine in an affordable package.
