The Panjiayuan market, also known as the‘Dirt’or‘flea’ Market(Chinese: 潘家园市场; pinyin: pānjiāyuán shìcháng), is a market in Beijing dealing in secondhand goods of private citizens and art and craft articles, dubbed as the largest secondhand market in Asia. It is is located at the west side of the Panjiayuan Bridge on the Southern part of the capital's East Third Ring Road . The market covers over three hectares of land and accommodates over 3,000 stalls open to business. As a market for people to visit in holidays and leisure, it also involves all varieties of goods for collectors in the nation and is China's biggest collecting and distributing center of art and craft articles. All sorts of bric-a-brac is sold in the market, browsing around the place you'll find a myriad of items ranging from antique paintings, jade and agate, pottery and ancient coils, to traditional furniture, ethnic dresses, relics from the Cultural Revolution, and various kinds of folk arts handicrafts.
