The Shanghai Children's Palace

The Shanghai Children's Palace is the place of training children's intelligence. The Children Palace is an interesting place to visit where you can enjoy great performances by the kids.

The Children's Palace in Shanghai (Chinese: 上海少年宫, Pinyin: Shànghǎi shàoniángōng) is the place of training children's intelligence. The Children Palace is an interesting place to visit where you can enjoy great performances by the kids. It is a kind of spare time school, providing after school education to gifted kids. Children participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities including music, dance, art, model making, science, technology and computer science. Kids can attend one or two programs according to their own interests. All the kids, 5-14 years old, can get into the palace as long as they can pass a simple examination and pay a small sum of money one term. The palace is in fact a part of China's social welfare because the government offers some financial support to the palace. It also have some donations from all works of life. You can find this kind of palace in many large and medium-sized cities in China. They have assist the country in training many gifted children into sport world champion and musicians.

The Children's Palace is situated on West Yanan Road in downtown Shanghai. It is a palace construction of European type and it is an outstanding perfect works in 20s in the 20th century. Most of its construction materials are qualified marbles carried from Europe, so it is also called the Marble Mansion.

One feature of the Children's Palace in Shanghai is that it has the first largest hall without beams. In this hall a large-scale party with the most people attending once held here. In front of the Marble Mansion is a large piece of grassland with evergreen trees all around.

In the flower nursery there planted various flowers. So many flowers, leaves and green grass are in front of the hall, which is another feature of the Children's Palace in Shanghai.
