Shuinan Village

Shuinan Village is a famous ancient cultural village of Hainan beeing fertile of rice and fish.
Shuinan Village (Chinese: 水南村; pinyin: Shuǐnáncūn) is a famous ancient cultural village of Hainan, which is fertile of rice and fish. It is located at Yacheng Town, 45 kilometers west of Sanya City.

Shuinan Village is so beautiful for not only its scenery but also the humane landscape. Hills and sea encircle the village make it unique and elegant. Betel trees are dancing in front of each house while coconut trees are erecting in the every backyard. Besides, its simple folkway has been influenced by different cultures for a long time. Combined with the local traditional culture of Lizu people, the Shuinan Village is quite unique. With developed spinning and weaving technology, Shuinan Village can produce a great variety of textiles.

Shuinan Village was recorded in the history of Chinese textile industry, because Huangdaopo made great contribution to the development of ancient textile technology in China. Huang Daopo, a well known innovator of weaving technology during the Yuan Dynasty, had been used to live and study the textile in Shuinan Village.

Shuinan Village attracts lots of tourists to enjoy the scenery and the speciality or to relax, even more, to study the manufacture of the textile.
