Two Rivers and Four Lakes Scenic Area

An evening boat ride through the whole amazing city center of Guilin will provide you with a full understanding of Guilin and her friendly people.

The Two Rivers and Four Lakes Scenic Area(chinese: 两江四湖, Pinyin: Liǎngjiāng sìhú) is one of the most beautiful scenic spots in downtown Guilin. The two rivers refer to Li River and the Peach Blossom River. The four lakes refer to Mulong Lake, Gui Lake, Rong Lake and Shan Lake. This water system is 7.33 kilometers long and occupies an area of over 385,900 square meters. The areas surrounding the Two Rivers Four Lakes area are filled with trees, plants, meandering paths, and small pavilions. Shan Lake has two large pagodas and on an island in the middle of Rong Lake is a tea house and garden that can only be reached by a zigzagging white marble bridge. The area has become one of the favorite places to stroll for visitors and residents alike.

In the evening there is a cruise through the whole amazing city center of Guilin will provide you with a full understanding of Guilin and her friendly people. At night the area is especially lovely when its many lanterns and lights are lit. The cruise takes visitors past performances by local people of Guilin Opera, minority songs, traditional Chinese music. The area is quite captivating and very beautiful. Years ago ancient trees and plants were protected and maintained along the bankment of the lakes and rivers, historical local figures’ statues and a dozen of pretty bridges were set up at coners of the pavements and built over the lakes, colorful lights, light music players, musical fountains and pleasure boats were provided along the whole area open free to the public. It is also named “Oriental Venice”.

Sun & Moon Pagoda
The Sun Pagoda is a cupreous one which has 9 floors ,41 meters high. It is the tallest cupreous pagoda, cupreous architecture standing on China Fir Lake.. The Moon Pagoda has 7floors, 35 meters high .It is made of colored glaze.

Crystal Glass Bridge at Night
It is located on Banyan Lake. The structure is made of special crystal glass. The bridge is 22.4 meters long, 2.64 meters wide.
