(Chinese: 天池；pinyin: tiānchí): Heavenly Lake, a crescent-shaped lake, is a beautiful stretch of water, surrounded by luxuriant meadows and dense pine forests. It lies at an elevation of 1,980 m (6,500 ft) and enclosed by snow-capped peaks including the majestic Bogda Peak. The water is crystal-clear and it offers many oprportunities for leisurely walks. It is named the "Pearl of Heavenly Mountain" (Tianshan Mountain).
