Wuhan is the biggest and one of the most key central city in the mainland China.

Wuhan (Chinese: 武汉; pinyin: Wǔhàn) is the capital of Hubei Province. It is the biggest and one of the most key central city in the mainland China as well as the political, economic, scientific & technological, cultural and financial center in inland China.

Wuhan, the metropolitan area comprises three parts-Wuchang, Hankou and Hanyang, commonly called the "Three Towns of Wuhan" (hence the name "Wuhan", combining "Wu" from the first city and "Han" from the other two). These three parts face each other across the rivers and are linked by bridges, including one of the first modern bridges in China, known as the "First Bridge". Wuhan is situated in the middle of Hubei Province of China, the east of Jianghan Plain, and the confluence of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and Han River.

Due to its location at the crossroads of central China, Wuhan is known as the "thoroughfare of nine provinces". It is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and expressways passing through the city.

Having abundant human cultural and tourist resources, Wuhan is also a famous city in Chinese history and culture as well as a city with beautiful scenes of hills, water and parks. The famous Yellow Crane Tower, the Guiyuan Temple, East Lake Scenic Zone and so on, are all located in Wuhan. The climate of Wuhan is also suitable for travel; it is subtropical monsoon with abundant rainfall and distinctive four seasons. In addition, Wuhan City is also one of the most prosperous commercial centers along the Yangtze River, boasting of one of China's leading iron and steel complexes -- the Wuhan Iron and Steel Corporation. Wuhan is also a city with a strong revolutionary tradition.
