|
Xumi Fushou Temple is the symbol of harmonious between the nations of Han, Man and Mongolia. |
Xumi Fushou Temple (Chinese: 须弥福寿之庙; pinyin: Xūmí Fúshòu Zhī Miào) was built in 1780 during the reign of Emperor Qianlong as an acknowledgement and a temporary residence as well as study for the Tibet's Sixth Panchen Lama when he came to Chengde for an audience with Emperor Qianlong.
The name "Xumi Fushou Temple" means blessing and longevity. The temple is the combination of Han and Tibet architectural styles. The main building here is the Hall of Excellence and Grandeur (Miaogao zhuangyan dian), which is a triple-tiered building with the most notable feature of the eight golden dragons lining the roof, refined and lively. The octagonal tower at the northern end of the temple, whose roof is prettily glazed with yellow tile, is also worth visiting. Inside the palace, Sakyamuni is oblate there.
Generally speaking, Xumi Fushou Temple is the symbol of harmonious between the nations of Han, Man and Mongolia. |
