Yue Xiu Park

Yuexiu Park is the biggest comprehensive park of Guangzhou which the Five-Ram Sculpture are presered there.

Yuexiu Park (Chinese: 越秀公园; pinyin: Yuèxiù Gōngyuán) is the biggest comprehensive park of Guangzhou located in the centre city. In history, it called Yuexiu Mountain or Yuewang Mountain. 3 man-made lakes and 7 hillocks compose the park making it more beauty. What's over, the famous structure of the Yuexiu Park are the Five-Ram Sculpture which has become the emblem of Guangzhou City and the Zhenhai Tower. The Five-Ram Sculpture has a profound history. It went a legend that about 2,000 years ago, Guangzhou was a barren land that people were suffering from famine despite how hard they work. One day, five immortals in five-color garments rode on five rams coming. The rams held sheaves of rice in their mouths while the immortals left the sheaves of rice for the people of Guangzhou, giving them blessing and left. After that, the rams turn into Guangzhou and made them become a rich and popular place. So that Guangzhou got the name of Rams City or the City of Ears.

Zhenhai Tower, originally built in Ming Dynasty and stood upright in the Ming Dynasty City wall of the Yuexiu Mountain, has five-story high and is one of the landmarks of Guangzhou City. Guangzhou Museum was built here in 1929, which is housing relics and documents showing Guangzhou's history of over 2, 000 years. Other landscape, such as the striking contrast of green glazed titles and red walls makes the tower elegant.
