Yulong River

The Yulong River is a tributary of Li River famous for the beautiful countryside scenery on both sides, it is like a green ribbon winding peacefully through the rice fields and small villages. The unique-shaped pinnacles, the bamboo groves, the rice fields and the roaming water buffalos are all combined together to create a charming countryside picture.

The Yulong River(chinese: 遇龙河, Pinyin: Yùlónghé) is a tributary of Li River, also called Little Li River, it is like a green ribbon winding peacefully through the rice fields, farmhouses, trees and mountains. The unique-shaped pinnacles, the bamboo groves, the rice fields and the roaming water buffalos are all combined together to create a charming countryside picture.

Traveling by bamboo raft you will be surrounded by the crystal water and feel relaxed and happy in the arms of the green mountains. Looking from the mountaintops, you can see a vivid panorama of the landscape with the green crystal water flowing through the colorful valley below. Viewers are entranced with the harmonious picture of women washing clothes beside the river, ducks swimming on the river, bamboo rafts moving under the old bridge, and farmers working in the fields. Yulong has a different kind of beauty than the Li River. Along the Yulong River you can find Fuli Bridge, Guiyi Original Site ,
Ancient Village, Xiangui Bridge, the Zhu' s Camp, Chuan Cave, Rhinoceros Deep Pool, Zhaoyang Camp,Seven Stars and other scenic spots.

Travel Tipps:

Taking a bamboo raft ride is an excellent, relaxing way to take in the amazing views of the Yu Long and Li River and watch the countryside just drift on by. The starting points are at different locations along the rivers and the rides range from half an hour to 5 hours. The word "rafting" is perhaps a little bit misleading as the water rides are in fact very slow as a man steers you gently down the course of the rivers and across a few weirs. Both rivers have their advantages; if you're after a little tranquility and a lazy afternoon then we recommend the Yu Long River as the bamboo rafts are pushed along. For dramatic scenery with huge karst peaks soaring hundreds of meters up from the river take a motorized bamboo raft along the Li River. Generally the rafts have enough room for bikes so you can always combine it with a biking tour.
