Baishui Terrace (white water terrace)

Seeing Baishuitai in the distance, surrounding by green trees and grasses, the shape of it looks like terraces. It also looks like frozen waterfall in the sunshine.

Baishuitai,Baishui Terrace or white water terrace, located at Baidi Viliage in Shangri-la County, is the birthplace of Dongba Religion of Naxi Nationality. The variegated karst landform of the tableland is an outcome of the continuous piling up of Tosco (calcite sediments), resulting from the disintegration of calcium bicarbonate contained in the water. With an area of 3 square kilometers, temperate climate here brings plentiful rainfalls and the average temperature is 11.4 degree centigrade. Seeing it in the distance, surrounding by green trees and grasses, the shape of Baishuitai looks like terraces. It also looks like frozen waterfall in the sunshine. On February 8th of Chinese lunar calendar, Naxi people get together here from different places to pray for a good harvest in the next year.
