Meli Snow Mountain, also called “the prince of snow mountain”, is located in the middle of Hengduan Mountain Range, Deqin County, Yunnan Province. There are 13 peaks that the average elevation is more than 6000m, known as “Prince 13 Peak”. The main peak-Kawagebo Peak, at the elevation of 6740m, is the highest peak in Yunnan Province.
Meri Snow Mountain is famous for its magnificent and mysterious scenery. There is a majestic waterfall on the south side of Kawagebo Peak. In the summer this waterfall is particularly spectacular. Because of the crystal water and sunshine, water mists change to colorful rainbow. Besides, the clean water means lucky and sacred for believers. The best time to visit Meri Snow Mountain is from October to the next year in May. At that time, the weather is clear and the air is fresh. Furthermore, it is easy for travelers to watch the main peak because of the high grade of transparency.
