The Henan Provincial Museum(Chinese:河南博物馆;pinyin:hénánbówùyuàn) is one of China's oldest museums. It covers an area of more than 100,000 square meters, with a building area of 78,000 square meters. The exhibition hall space is more than 10,000 square meters. The building uses a combination of both traditional architecture and pathbreaking new technology. As the provincial museum of the cradle of China's civilization, the Henan Museum provides a great opportunity for viewers to grasp the basic understanding of China's culture and history. The Henan Museum boasts a collection of artifacts discovered throughout the province, including a particularly good collection of Shang Dynasty (17th century BC-11th century BC) relics. Founded in Kaifeng City in 1927, the Museum was then named Henan Provincial Museum. It moved to Jinshui Road in Zhenzhou in 1961. Objects from the Museum's collections have traveled to America, Japan, England, Germany, France, Australia, and Denmark for exhibition and have been widely praised.
