Tour Features: Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian, is a 2000 years old city. It is also known as the "City of Banyans" after the many banyan trees that dot the city landscape, boasts a fair number of historical and cultural sights. The local culture varies somewhat from mainstream cultures in central China.
Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Fuzhou (-, -, -)
Upon arrival in Fuzhou, your tour guide will meet you at Fuzhou Airport and transfer you to your hotel by private car. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or step out into this amazing city for an adventure on your own.
Day 2: West Lake Park, Mountain Gu, Yongquan Temple (B, L, D)
You will have a half-day tour around Fuzhou and it starts with visiting West Lake Park in the northwest of Fuzhou. The park has a history of over 1,700 years with beautiful bridges and willow landscape. You can go boating and take a nice stroll in the park.
Then, visit Mountain Gu in the east suburb of Fuzhou. There is a large rock on the mountain that is shaped like a drum, hence its name. Mountain Gu (Gu Shan) is a resort that has the history of more than 1,000 years and is a wooded area with pleasant walks.
Finally you will go to the Yongquan Temple, one of the biggest Buddhist temple in Fujian province, located at the foot of the White Cloud Peak of Gushan Mountain. It was built in 908 A.D. and has a big collection of Buddhism books including more than 10,000 Ming-Qing Buddhist scriptures and 30,000 Buddhism writings in all ages.
Then you will be transferred to the airport to fly to Wuyi Shan. Upon arrival in Wuyi Shan, your tour guide will meet you at Wuyi Shan Airport and transfer you to your hotel by private car.
Day 3: Wuyi Mountain (B, L, D)
One day tour to Wuyi Mountain (including bamboo-rafting). Today you will have a full-day private tour in the beautiful Mount Wuyi (Wu Yi Shan), a sheer, mist-shrouded sandstone mountain, which is famous for Nine Bend Creek, thirty-six peaks and ninety- nine caves. It is one of the most outstanding subtropical forests in the world and has a large number of ancient relict plant species, wild animals, many of which are endemic to China.
You will climb to Tianyou Peak, the traditional spot from where to watch the sunrise and view the city's landscape. Later, you will take a raft through the gorges, which is the best way to enjoy the landscape along Nine Bend Creek (Jiuqu Xi). Another renowned peak is Dawang Peak (Peak of the Great King) which is the most difficult to climb, but one can get a full view of the 36 lesser peaks. Other scenic spots include the Little Peach Blossoms Garden (Xiaotaoyuan), Water Screen Cave (Shuiliandong), Floating Fragrance Valley (Liuxiangjian), and A Shot of Sky (Yixiantian).
