Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Guilin (-, L, -)
Upon arrival Guilin, you will be met at Guilin Airport or Guilin Train Station by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel by the private car. Then visit the Reed Flute Cave, which got its name by the reeds used for making flutes and pipes growing at its entrance. The cave is known as "the Palace of the Nature Arts" and regarded as the most impressive cave in Guilin city for the remarkable limestone formation with imaginative lighting. Then drive back to the hotel.
Day 2: Sanjiang (B, L, -)
Drive 4 hours to Sanjiang to see the exquisite Wind and Rain Bridge built by Dong people, which group is good at tenon-joint skill for constructions, then step into the Dong village to see the Drum Tower and enjoy how the Dong people lead their life.
Day 3: Zhaoxing (B, L, D)
Drive to Zhaoxing, 270km from Sanjiang, which is the biggest Dong ethnic village in China with almost a thousand households. Explore the Dong minority's living place including the largest Dong People's village and the first ecological museum of Dong people, the Tang'an Dong village.
Day 4: Congjiang (B, L, D)
Visit the ecological museum founded by Norway government in Tang'an. Drive to Congjiang in the afternoon. Stay at the hotel in Congjiang.
Day 5: Basha (B, L, D)
Drive to Biasha which is about 7km from Congjiang County and discover Biasha Miao ethnic village. Biasha has been in such view for hundreds years that everyone is indigo garment every day and every man always holds a gun or knife with a hair style of ancient warrior. Drive to Sanjiang (170km from Biasha).
Day 6: Longsheng (B, L, D)
Early in the morning drive from Sanjiang to Longsheng, 65km for about 1.5h. Full day excursion to the Rice Terraces in Longsheng for the sightseeing of Ethnic culture. The terraces resemble the great chains or ribbons as they meander from the foot to the top of the hills. This smart construction makes the best use of the limited arable land and water resources in the mountainous area. The Terraces were first started in the Yuan Dynasty and finished in the Qing Dynasty by the Zhuang people. Then be transferred back to Guilin and stay in Guilin overnight.
Day 7: Li River Cruise (B, L, D)
Pick up from your hotel early in the morning. Then drive about 30 to 40 minutes to get to the Zhujiang Pier for a 4-hour' cruise on Li River with 56km, the highlight of sightseeing tour in Guilin with lunch aboard. You will enjoy the beautiful mountains, verdant fields, farms and villages with water buffalos, cows wondering around on both sides of the river bank. Disembark in the old town Yangshuo which is famous for its spectacular views of hills and rivers and bar streets. In the afternoon explore the old town freely. Stay in Yangshuo overnight.
Day 8: Leave Guilin (B, -, -)
Be transferred back to Guilin. Visit the Seven Star Park. With 100 hectares, it is the biggest comprehensive park in Guilin with many attractive trails that wind around seven peaks in the shape of the Big Dipper, where pavilions, platforms all through the park, and you can see Giant Pandas in the zoo inside the park. Then move on to the Reed Flute Cave, The largest and most impressive cave in Guilin, you will see many beautiful stalactites & stalagmites. Finally go to the Elephant Trunk Hill, a hill of 50 meters high, which is regarded as the symbol of Guilin city because of it’s natural beauty. Everyone can see easily that the whole rock looks like a giant elephant leisurely sipping water from the river with its long trunk.
Be transferred to Guilin airport or Guilin train station for your departure.
