Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Guilin (-, L, -)
Upon arrival Guilin, you will be met at Guilin Airport by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel by the private car. Then take a break or walk around the lovely city at leisure in the afternoon. In the evening, you'll enjoy cormorant fishing. It is a kind of birds that can dive into the water to catch fish and return it to the fisherman. Such an ability is NOT natural to the bird, it has to be trained for about half a year by the fisherman. It is a very interesting experience to see how the cormorants get fish. Then drive back to the hotel.
Day 2: Longsheng (B, L, -)
Full day excursion to the Rice Terraces in Longsheng for the sightseeing of Ethnic culture. It is 100km away from the city of Guilin and 2.5h drive. The terraces resemble the great chains or ribbons as they meander from the foot to the top of the hills. This smart construction makes the best use of the limited arable land and water resources in the mountainous area. The Terraces were first started in the Yuan Dynasty and finished in the Qing Dynasty by the Zhuang people. Then continue to drive to Sanjiang which is 90km from the Rice Terraces for the Wind and Rain Bridge and Dong culture.
Day 3: Sanjiang (B, L, D)
Pick up from Sanjiang Hotel early in the morning, and drive to see the exquisite Wind and Rain Bridge built by Dong people, which group is good at tenon-joint skill for constructions, then step into the Dong village to enjoy how the Dong people lead their life. Later on, drive back to Guilin after lunch for Tea Plantation, which was founded in 1965, the area of the whole plantation contains about 40 hectares, and it owns 250 different tea plants. Most of the tea products here are made with traditional hand-manufacture and they are very popular at home and abroad. Then back to hotel when it finishes.
Day 4: Li River Cruise (B, L, D)
Pick up from your hotel early in the morning. Then drive about 30 to 40 minutes to get to the Zhujiang Pier for a 4-hour' cruise on Li River with 56km, the highlight of sightseeing tour in Guilin with lunch aboard. You will enjoy the beautiful mountains, verdant fields, farms and villages with water buffalos, cows wondering around on both sides of the river bank. Disembark in the old town Yangshuo which is famous for its spectacular views of hills and rivers and bar streets. In the afternoon explore the old town freely. Stay in Yangshuo overnight.
Day 5: Yangshuo (B, L, D)
After breakfast, your tour guide will show you around the peaceful countryside for about 2hour by bicycle, taking in local villages and rice paddies along the Yulong River which is a major tributary of Li River and flows through some of the most beautiful Karst (limestone) scenery near Yangshuo. On the way you might be invited into a villager's family to experience the rurual life in China. Then ride bicycle back to the hotel. Stay in Yangshuo overnight.
Day 6: Yangshuo (B, -, -)
Pick up from your hotel in the morning, visit the Silver Cave, which is a wonderful limestone cave with a dazzling variety of stalactites and stalagmites, and the interesting legends of the grotesque rocks make your trip unforgettable. Be transferred to Guilin airport or Guilin train station for your departure.
