Day by Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Jiaxiu Tower, Qialing Park, Hongfu Temple, Flower and Birds Market (-, L, -)

Upon arrival in Guiyang, your tour guide will meet you at Guiyang Airport and transport you to your hotel by private car.

Your tour in Guiyang will begin with visiting Jiaxiu Tower, the landmark of Guiyang, situated on Fuyu Bridge over the Nanming River. This 20 m (66 ft) high, three-storied wooden tower was constructed in 1598 as an inspirational meeting place for the imperial civil service examinations.

Then, visit Qialing Park, 1.5 km from the center of Guiyang City, which comprises an unexpected patch of forested hills. It boasts clear waters, green mountains, tranquil forests and old temples.

Then you will go to Hongfu Temple which was originally founded in 1672. It is the largest Buddhist temple in Guizhou with magnificent and venerable architectural style.

Finally you will move to Flower and Birds Market where you can see great varieties of items from blossoms, potted plants, birds, and fish.

Day 2: Nuo Drama, Dragon Palace Cave (B, L, D)


After breakfast, you will have an excursion to Anshun, 100 km (62 miles) southwest of Guiyang.

Firstly you will enjoy the local ancient drama- Nuo Drama (Nuo Xi) whose purpose was a sacrificial activity. Nuo Drama here is a branch of the ancient Military Nuo. Musical instruments include one gong and one drum. The drummer is very important during a performance. A patch of land serves as a stage. As a result, it is also called Dixi (ground drama).

Next, visit the Dragon Palace Cave (Longgong Dong), 27 km in the western suburbs of Anshun. It is a magnificent underground cave system with lakes, waterfalls and stalactites, covering an area almost 60 sq km connected by an underground river.

Day 3: Huangguoshu Waterfall, Tianxing, Buyi Miao Village (B, L, -)


Today after breakfast, you will visit the largest waterfall in Asia-Huangguoshu Waterfall, 45 km southwest of Anshun City. It mainly consists of three National Parks: Waterfalls Cluster, Water-Curtain Cave and Rhinoceros Pool (Xi Niu Tan). Huangguoshu is the best known of some 18 in a cluster of waterfalls and during the summer rains the 266 ft (68 m) broad curtain of water creates an awesome spectacle.

Then visit Tianxing scenic spot where a series of small caves, some karst spires rise 20 m (66 ft) and water tumbles into a network of streams between rocky islets.

At last, you will move to the Buyi Miao Village which is a village in deep mountains with graceful karst hill surrounded.

Day 4: Miao Minority Villages (B, -, -)


After breakfast, you will have an excursion to Kaili, 170 km east of Guiyang. On the way, you can see the beautiful terrace fields and Miao Minority villages with traditional wooden houses and cobbled streets.

Day 5: Datang Miao Village, Matang Gejia Village, Paika Miao Village, Kaili Minority Museum (B, -, -)


After breakfast, your tour starts with visiting Datang Miao Village. It is a Miao village that is famous for an aquatic granary and the distinctive dressing style of the women and girls-"short skirt".

Then, visit Matang Gejia Village, 18 km north of the city of Kaili, which is home to the majority of Gejia, a Miao subgroup. They specialize in traditional batik customs. Matang village's Gejia girls begin to learn the art of batik, petit point and embroidery as young as 7–8 years old, and are fond of colorful clothing for everyday attire as well as festival costumes.

Next you will move to Paika Miao Village which is known for its manufacture of Lusheng, the characteristic musical instrument of the Miao, made from bamboo pipes with a mouthpiece.

Finally you will go to the Kaili Minority Museum, which is a window for tourist to be acquainted with the custom of minorities in southeast of Guizhou. There are totally 12 exhibition halls, while only four of them are open to tourists, where displays local minorities' history, daily life, silver and embroidery.

Day 6: Xijiang Miao Village, Leigong Mountain (B, -, -)


After breakfast, you will be driven to Rongjiang, 172 km from Kaili. Your tour starts with visiting Xijiang Miao Village, located southeast of Kaili. It is the largest Miao Village in China at around 1200 wooden homes and surrounded by green hills and blue waters. The local silversmiths have unique craftsmanship for silver ornament making.

Then, visit Leigong Mountain (2178 m, 7150 feet), 15 km east of Kaili. It is the highest mountain of the southeast area of Guizhou and a beautiful place with flowers blooming in four seasons and birds twittering every minute. It has abundant natural vegetations and hills and mountains are decorated with lush green trees and beautiful flowers.

Day 7: Basha Miao Village, Zhaoxing Dong Village (B, -, -)

After breakfast, you will have an excursion to Basha Miao Village, 7 km from Congjiang County and about 80 km from Rongjiang, which is home to over 1,000 residents living in more than 400 households. It is a place where ancient culture is most completely protected and very little touched by violent modernization. The villagers still retain the living customs and dress of the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) Dynasty.

Finally you will move to Zhaoxing, about 150 km from Rongjiang. You will start your tour with visiting Zhaoxing Dong Village which is praised as one of the most beautiful villages in China and the largest Dong Village in China with 1000 families or so. The unique ancien wooden stilt houses, century-old practice, the hospitable locals and the fertile terraced fields offer you a different experience.

Day 8: Sanjiang, Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge, Mapang Drum Tower (B, -, -)

After breakfast, you will be driven to Sanjiang, 120 km (75 miles) from Zhaoxing. You will visit Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge, built in 1916. It is 64.4 meters (73.43 yards) long, 3.4 metes (3.72 yards) wide and 10.6 meters (34.78 feet) high, constructed with wood and stones. The surface of the bridge is paved with wooden boards and both sides are inlayed with railings.

Then, visit Mapang Drum Tower, 28 km (over 17 miles) away from Sanjiang County, which is a masterpiece of Dong ethnic architecture, built without nails. The tower has nine upturned eaves, and each eave is carved with flowers, grass, fish, birds, and characters.

Then you will be driven to Guilin Airport for your flight to next destination.
