Day by Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival at Chengde (-, -, D)

Upon arrival in Chengde, your our guide will meet you and transferred to your hotel by private car. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or step out to discover what this amazing city has to offer.

Day 2 : Temple of Potaraka Doctrine, Puning Temple, Chengde Mountain Resort (B, L, D)

You will begin your trip today from the the Puning Temple (Temple of Universal Peace) after breakfast. The Puning Temple was built in 1755 to commemorate the Qing Dynasty victory over a troublesome Mongolian force and was modeled after the Samye Monastery, the sacred Lamaist site in Tibet. It houses the world's tallest wooden sculpture of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara (22.28-meter-high and 110-ton).

Later you will visit the Temple of Potaraka Doctrine that is the largest and the most magnificent temple of the Eight Outer Temples and it also enjoys the name of "Little Potala Palace" since it imitated the Potala Palace built a century ago in Tibet.

In the afternoon, you will proceed to the Chengde Mountain Resort which is the largest imperial garden in China with numerous palaces, wonderful scenery and a pleasant climate. Emperors of the Qing Dynasty lived here with their concubines and ministers during the summer time. Temples of various architectural styles and imperial gardens blend harmoniously into a landscape of lakes, pastureland and forests.

Day 3 : Mulan Hunting Ground, Luan River, Inner Mongolia (B, L, D)

Today you will be driven to the Mulan Hunting Ground (10 minutes), located in the north of Chengde, which used to open to be the imperial hunting ground in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1901 A.D.) and have a great view of the vast grassland. Later, you will cross the Border River of Hebei Province and Inner Mongolia, Luan River, and go to see the fountainhead of Luan River.

After that, you can enjoy the marvelous scenery of the vast grassland. Later you will visit the Wulanbutong Ancient Battlefield, an ideal place to enjoy grassland, forest landscape, pasturing customs and ancient culture. If you like, you can rise horses, drift or drive the Jeep (payable locally). In the evening, you will stay at the Mulan Hunting Ground and hold a needfire party and barbecue the whole sheep. Just enjoy yourseft and pay by yourself.

Day 4 : Qingchuifeng Peak (B, L, D)

This morning you will go back to Chengde and go to take round-way cable car to the Qingchuifeng Peak which is also called "Wooden Club Peak" because its shape is like a club laundry woman used to beat clothes. From the top of the peak you can have a bird's eye view of the small Chengde City.

Day 5 :Qinhuangdao, Shanhaiguan (B, L, D)

Today you will have a excursion to Qinghuangdao (about 5 hours). When you reach there and have your lunch, you will begin to take a stroll on the Binhai Road which boasts of the rare blend of mountain and the sea. One side of the road features mountainous areas covered with forests while the opposite side reveals the panoramic coastline and sea.

After that, you will begin your trip to Shanhaiguan or Shanhai Pass, a town situated in the northeast of Qinhuangdao City. Along with Jiayuguan and Juyongguan, it is one of the major passes of the Great Wall of China and marks the eastern end of the Great Wall. It is known as the First Pass under Heaven.

Climbing up the Zhendong Tower, the east tower of the Shanhaiguan Pass, you will see that to one side of the tower is the rolling sea, while on the other lies the lofty Great Wall.

Day 6 : Nandaihe (B, L, D)

After breakfast, you will have a full day relaxation to the southern part of Beidaihe to visit the Golden Beach at Nandaihe which is connected to Beidaihe by a bridge over a river. With its "basic elements for seaside tourism" -- the sea, beach, sunshine and greenery -- Nandaihe is an ideal venue for taking a dip in the sea and sunbathing. The region is also honored as "the First Bathing Venue Under the Heaven". You also can enjoy sand sliding here.

Day 7 : Back to Beijing (B, -, -)

After breakfast, our guide will transfer you back to Beijing!
