Tour Features: A different northern-frontier scene tour awaits you to travel. The Mulan Hunting Ground with undulating hills, a large number of river and lakes, dense forests and vast grasslands will surprise you by this tour. Day by Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Chengde Mountain Resort (-, L, D)

Today, your tour guide will take you to Chengde Mountain Resort from Beijing, about 4 hours drive. You will enjoy the excursion to the Chengde Mountain Resort. It is the largest imperial garden in China with numerous palaces, wonderful scenery and a pleasant climate. Emperors of the Qing Dynasty lived here with their concubines and ministers during the summer time. Temples of various architectural styles and imperial gardens blend harmoniously into a landscape of lakes, pastureland and forests.

Day 2 : Eight Outer Temples, Temple of Potaraka Doctrine, Puning Temple (B, L, D)

Today your trip starts from visiting the Eight Outer Temples, which is a collective name given to 12 brilliant and golden temples built in succession.

Firstly you will visit the Temple of Potaraka Doctrine that is the largest and the most magnificent temple of the Eight Outer Temples and it also enjoys the name of "Little Potala Palace" since it imitated the Potala Palace built a century ago in Tibet.

Followed by the the Puning Temple (Temple of Universal Peace) which was built in 1755 to commemorate the Qing Dynasty victory over a troublesome Mongolian force and was modeled after the Samye Monastery, the sacred Lamaist site in Tibet. It houses the world's tallest wooden sculpture of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara (22.28-meter-high and 110-ton). Later you will be driven to the Mulan Hunting Ground (10 minutes), located in the north of Chengde, which used to open to be the imperial hunting ground in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1901 A.D.). Stay there overnight.

Day 3 : Mulan Hunting Ground (B, L, D)

Today you will enjoy a full-day excursion to the Mulan Hunting Ground with undulating hills, a large number of river and lakes, dense forests and vast grasslands. The scenery of the natural hunting ground will surprise you. It is very interesting that you can ride horse to have a sightseeing on the hunting ground as well as experience the pleasure of sliding grass there.

At last, you will be transferred back to Beijing.
