Day by Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Changsha (-, L, -)

Changsha, the star city, is the capital of Hunan, renowned as "Furong Country". Upon your arrival in Changsha, our guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.

After having a rest, visit the famous museum—Mawangdui Han Tombs. You will receive a lot of surprises in the museum as well as knowledge about the culture of Han Dynasty. The three tombs preserved in the museum are very grand and complicated as well. A trip to Mawangdui Museum will allow tourists to understand the aristocrat's life at the time of the western Han dynasty.  It is as though one were reading an encyclopedia on the Western Han period.

After visiting the Mawangdui Museum, you will excurse to the Yuelu Academy of Classical Education, one of the four most prestigious academies over the last 1000 years in China. Nowadays, the academy is a center of publication and research of the ancient Chinese language as well as one of the most important academic and cultural centers in China.

When finish today's trip, our guide will transfer you to your hotel and the rest of the day is yours to relax.

Day 2: Yueyang (B, L, -)

Today you will encounter a memorable trip. After breakfast you will take a 2-hour drive to Yueyang and then visit one of the three famous towers along Yangtze River—Yueyang Tower. It is reputed as the "first tower under heaven" with splendid and unique architecture. Standing on the tower, one can gaze at the distant view of the mists and ripples of the Dongting Lake.

Travel to Yueyang Tower, the Tree Drunk Tower is a must-see attraction. It is one of the main towers of Yueyang Tower, with exquisite flower chased on the door and the window, grand and gorgeous. It's named after a legend that the immortal Lv Dongbing was in drink three times there.

Later you will have a visit to the north of the Yueyang Tower to watch the tomb of Xiao Qiao who was a beautiful lady in Three Kingdoms Period and the wife of the famous general of Zhou Yu. Visiting the tomb you can pick up some stories about Zhou Yu and Xiao Qiao.

After that you will go to Dongting Lake which is well-known in Chinese history and literature for its beautiful scenery as well as it is China's second-largest freshwater lake and attracted lots of poets in ancient time.

After that, visit Junshan Island, which is honored as the 18th beatitudes place of Taoism and the scenery there is marvelous. On the east side of the island is the Xiangfei Ancestral Hall which was built to commemorate the two concubines of Emperor Shun. It ranks the earliest ancestral hall in Hunan Province.

In the afternoon, you will be transferred back to Changsha City.

Day 3: Nanyue Scenic Area (B, L, D)

Today you will travel to Nanyue Scenic Area. After your breakfast, drive to Nanyue Scenic Area (about 3 hours). After arrival in the Hengshan Mountain, you will firstly visit the Magu Fairyland which is the best place famous for plenty negative ion. In view of this, you will feel comfortable, clear and bright, just like flying there.

Near the Magu Fairyland is the Lingzhi Spring, where the scenery is enchanting and the mountains are beautiful. The water of the Lingzhi Spring is crystal clear as well as cool. The most famous swimming pool is under the Lingzhi Spring.

Later you will go straight to the summit of Hengshan Mountain—Zhurong Peak. The Zhurong Palace on the top of the peak is very splendid. Due to the heavy wind all through the year on the top, the wall of the palace is built with granite while the roof is iron tile. The whole palace looks towery and magnific.

After that, you will visit one of the oldest temples, the Shangfeng Temple, which is called as the 22nd fairyland by Taoist. After that you will visit the South Gate of Heaven, the big welcome pine tree, Nanyue Temple and the ancient street. The South Gate of Heaven stands on the top of the mountain, the stone torii and the characters on the gate is splendid and unique. The welcome pine tree is different from those in Yellow Mountain.

Travel to Nanyue Scenery Area, you should not miss the ancient street. The smooth and green slate road, the torii with the big characters of "Tianxia Nanyue", and the old houses full with smell of printing ink, make the ancient street simple and elegant. After you finish today's trip and your dinner, you will drive to Shaoshan, the hometown of Chairman Mao.

Day 4: Chairman Mao Villadom (B, -, -)

Today you will visit the villadom of Chairman Mao after your breakfast. Chairman Mao had lived in Dishui Cave for 11 days; hence the place is very famous now. In fact, the scenery in Dishui Cave is very beautiful with a stream flowing through it.

Later you will visit Chairman Mao's Residence. Chariman Mao had spent his childhood, youth, attending school and helping his mother with work there. Visiting there can make you feel closer to the great and famous person—Mao Zedong.

Our guide will drive you back to Changsha after finishing the trip.
