Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Nanchang (-, -, -)
Upon arrival in Nanchang, your tour guide will meet you at Nanchang Airport and transfer you to your hotel by private car. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or step out into this amazing city for an adventure on your own.
Day 2: Mount Lushan, Meilu Villa, Flower Path, Jinxiu Valley, Great Tianchi Lake, Dragon's Head Cliff (B, L, D)
Today you will enjoy a full-day excursion to the Mount Lushan (116 km from Nanchang). Mount Lushan is one of the spiritual centers of Chinese civilization and owes its reputation to its wonderful, elegant, steep and spectacular features that embrace ravines, waterfalls, grottoes, rocks and rivulets.
You will firstly visit the Meilu Villa which is the former villa of Chiang Kai Shek, named after his wife Song Meiling, and one of the few places in China that commemorates his period of rule. Later you will take a stroll through the Flower Path which skirts the edge of the western cliffs, giving marvelous views over the Jinxui Valley. Later you will wander in the most beautiful valley in Mount Lushan—the Jinxiu Valley where flowers are always in full bloom and are so brilliant that people call them brocade.
Then visit the the Sacrifice Cliff, also known as Dragon's Head Cliff, where magnifecent views combine with the sound of the wind in the pine forest and the roaring of waterfalls. Our guide will transfer you to your hotel after finishing the trip.
Day 3: Hanpo Pass, Wulao Feng, Sandie Spring (B, L, D)
After your breakfast, you will enjoy a full-day excursion to the Mount Lushan (116 km from Nanchang). You will start your trip from the Hanpo Pass. From the pass visitors can overlook the junk-dotted Poyang lake blending with the sky and the mountains shrouding in clouds and mist.
Afterwards, you will move to the Wulao Feng, 1,436 m (about 4,711 ft), which is located in the southeast of Lushan. Its five parallel peaks once formed a single apex and standing on the top you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the distant mountains, trees, lakes, and a seemingly endless sky.
Finally, visit Sandie Spring which the upper part is like snow falling down to the pond; the middle reach wanders and twists with splashing sprays dancing in the air; while the lower level resembles a jade dragon running in the pond. This is considered to be the best of the Lushan waterfalls. After your trip, our guide will transfer you to your hotel.
Day 4: Xunyang Pavilion, Yanshui Pavilion, Stone Bell Hill (B, L, D)
Today you will enjoy Jiujiang City and your tour starts with a visit to Xunyang Pavilion, located on the bank of Yangtze River. It is said that the tower was first built as a public wine house in the Tang Dynasty. It is a great setting to view the Yangtze River and has been mentioned in poems going back to 785 A.D..
Then visit Yanshui Pavilion at the south bank of Yangtze River where is a typical aquatic botanical garden of south China with red walls and green tiles, elegant garden and courtyard, luxuriant flowers and trees as well as the exquisite stones.
Afterwards, you will move to Poyang Lake which is the largest fresh-water lake in China and provides habitat for a half million migratory birds.
At last, you will visit the Stone Bell Hill (Shizhong Shan). The most mysterious and attractive thing is that the strange bell-like sound that can be heard on the mountain. You will be transferred to Nanchang in the evening after your trip.
Day 5: Teng Wang Pavilion, Bayi Square, Bayi Uprising Memorial Hall (B, L, -)
Today you will go to Nanchang. First you will visit the Teng Wang Pavilion, one of the Four Great Towers of China. In terms of its height, overall size and architectural style, this pavilion is a prime example of such buildings for which China is justifiably famous.
Later you will be taken to the Bayi Square, which has always been the second largest square in China, after Tiananmen Square in Beijing when it finished its reconstruction. Bayi Square, reputed as the window of Nanchang, was built to commemorate the Nanchang Uprising.
Know deeply about the Nanchang Uprising, one ideal place will be the Bayi Uprising Memorial Hall which will be your next destination. It was built on the side of the Nanchang Uprising Headquarters which has been kept as a memorial hall to the revolution with a lot of objects of historical and cultural importance on display.
After your trip, our guide will transfer you to the airport for your flight to your next destination.
