Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Shanghai (-, L, -)
Upon arrival in Shanghai, your tour guide will meet you at Shanghai Airport and transfer you to your hotel by private car. Shanghai is the largest city in China in terms of population and is located on China's central eastern coast at the mouth of the Yangtze River. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or step out into this amazing city for an adventure on your own.
Day 2: Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, Yuyuan Garden, Jade Buddha Temple (B, L, -)
After your breakfast in the morning, you will firstly go to Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, located in People's Square and adjacent to the municipal government building. It displays Shanghai's urban planning and development and models of planned and recent developments, as well as Shanghai's history.
Then you will take a stroll through the Yuyuan Garden, located in the center of the Old Shanghai City, is considered one of the most lavish and finest Chinese gardens in the region. The pavilions, halls, rockeries, ponds and cloisters all have unique characteristics in the garden. After, you can observe local people's life at the Yuyuan Market.
Then, visit Jade Buddha Temple in the western part of Shanghai. The old temple was founded in 1882 with two jade Buddha statues had been brought to Shanghai from Burma by a monk by sea. Both the Sitting Buddha (1.95 m tall, 3 tonnes), encrusted by the agate and the emerald and the smaller Reclining Buddha (96 cm long), representing Buddha's death are carved with whole white jade. Then you will be driven back to your hotel.
Day 3: The Bund, Nanjing Road, Jin Mao Tower (B, -, -)
After your breakfast in the morning, you will firstly enjoy the Bund, also called the Zhongshan Road, which is a famous waterfront and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years. It winds a 1500 m length. The most famous and attractive sights are the 52 various European-style buildings of different architectural styles including Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism and the Renaissance at the west side of the Bund.
Then you walk along Nanjing Road which has been a centre of commerce in Shanghai for more than a century. It is 3.4-mile-long and starts at the Bund in the east and ends in the west to People's Square.
Afterwards, you will move to Jin Mao Tower which is an 88-storey (420.5 m, almost 1380 ft tall) landmark supertall skyscraper in the Lujiazui area of the Pudong. It is the fourth tallest building of the world and the second tallest building in China. Two direct elevators operate at the speed of 9.1 m per second that can take visitors from the ground floor to the 88th floor in only 45 seconds.
