Tour Features: This tour will take you to the biggest glacier park in China-Hailuogou National Glacier Forest Park, and also have a chance to visit the largest carved stone Buddha-Leshan Giant Buddha, then visit the largest wild monkey natural reserve in China and finish your tour in Emei Mountain. These "three largest" will provide you an amazing tour.
Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Chengdu (-, -, -)
Upon arrival in Chengdu, your tour guide will meet you at Chengdu Airport and transfer you to your hotel by private car. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or step out into this amazing city for an adventure on your own.
Day 2: Chengdu-Moxi (about 260 km, 6 to 8 hours drive) (B, L, D)
You will be driven to Moxi after breakfast. On the way, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Dadu River and Erlang Mountain. You will visit Luding Bridge over the Dadu River, comprising 13 iron chains spanned by wooden planks, was built in 1705 to improve transportation through the region. It became a national icon in May 1935 due to an incident during the Long March.
You reach Moxi in the afternoon. Stay at Moxi County overnight.
Day 3: One-day Tour of Hailuogou (B, L, -)
You will have a full-day tour to Hailuogou, the biggest glacier park in China. Upon arrival in there, you will take a sightseeing bus into the Hailuogou National Glacier Forest Park. Firstly, you will stop at Camp No.3. Then you will take the longest cable car span through the glacier area to Camp No.4. On the way, you can have continuous view of the primeval forest, Grand Glacier Cascade, and sunshine on the top of the snow-capped mountain.
Then you will return to Camp No.3 and take the sightseeing bus to leave Hailuogou. On the way out, when the bus reaches Camp No.2 or Gongga Hotspring Resort, you can get off the bus and enjoy yourself in the hotspring. Then you will return to Moxi County and stay there overnight.
Day 4: Leshan Mountain -Emei Mountain (B, L, -)
You will be driven to Leshan after breakfast which takes eight hours to get there. Upon arrival in there, you will visit Leshan Giant Buddha, which is the largest carved stone Buddha in the world and is featured in poetry, song and story. Then visit Lingyun Temple at the right back of the giant Buddha's head, initially built in the Tang Dynasty and rebuilt in the early years of the Qing Dynasty. Then you will walk on the Nine Turns Staircase, which is a steep, narrow set of steps down to the toes. You can really appreicate his huge 8 m (26 ft) feet. Stay at Emei overnight.
Day 5: Emei Mountain (B, -, -)
After breakfast, you will be driven to Emei Mountain and your tour starts with visiting Wannian Temple, the oldest surviving building on Emei which dates back to 1611. It towers a bronze statue of Samantabhadra or Puxian riding an elephant which was cast during the Song Dynasty (960-1279).
Afterwards, visit Qingyin pavilion, built in Tang Dynasty (877 A.D.), sets in lowland forest at the junction of two streams. Afterwards, you will go to Yixiantian Gorge, a narrow part between two huge steep mountains. When you look up, the sky seems to be a line.
Finally, you will go to the largest wild monkey natural reserve.
Then you will be driven back to Chengdu. After having dinner in Chengdu, your personal guide will escort you to Chengdu Airport for your flight to your next destination.
