Tour Features: With this tour, you can get to know about three important historical persons in Sichuan's history: Du Fu-one of the greatest Tang-dynasty poets, Wang Jian-the founder of the former Shu Kindom, and Zhuge Liang who was helping to establish the State of Shu and serving as its Prime Minister. What's more, you also have a chance to take a close look at giant panda.
Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Chengdu (-, -, -)
Upon arrival in Chengdu, your tour guide will meet you at Chengdu Airport and transfer you to your hotel by private car. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or step out into this amazing city for an adventure on your own.
Day 2: Du Fu's Thatched Cottage, Pavilion (Wang Jiang Lou) Park, Wuhou Memorial Temple (B, L, D)
After breakfast, you will start your tour with visiting Du Fu's Thatched Cottage. It is an idyllic 24-acre park and museum in honour of the most celebrated Tang Dynasty poet, Du Fu. The Museum is the sacred land of poetry and a national treasure.
Then you will stroll in the River Viewing Pavilion (Wang Jiang Lou) Park which is renowned for its natural beauty and historical significance. The extremely splendid tower is the memorial to a famous poetess, named Xuetao in the 9th century.
After that visit
Wuhou Memorial Temple, built in the 6th century in commemoration of Zhuge Liang (181-234 AD), the Martial Marquis of Shu in the Three Kingdoms period. The temple houses 47 statues of historical figures in the Three Kingdoms, and more than 40 stone tablets.
Finally you will pay a visit to the local tea garden to enjoy the local tea culture.
Day 3: Chengdu Panda Base (B, -, -)
The highlight of today is to visit the Chengdu Panda Base, where you can see pandas, Chengdu's most famous residents, breeding in nature. You can take a very close look of this cute animal.
Then your personal guide escorts you to Chengdu Airport for your flight to your next destination.
