Tour Features: Mount Sigunianshan, praised as the Oriental Alps, is precipitous and magnificent, with its peaks covered with snow all the year round. It’s also one of the ten mountains in China open to foreign climbers. The region is called the fauna and flora gene bank of Southwest China. By this tour, you have a chance to visit two famous valleys in Mt. Siguniangshan and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Balang Mountain. What's more, you also have a chance to see the cute giant pandas in Wolong National Nature Reserve and take very close pictures of them.
Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Chengdu (-, -, -)
Upon arrival in Chengdu, your tour guide will meet you at Chengdu Airport and transfer you to your hotel by private car. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or step out into this amazing city for an adventure on your own.
Day 2: Mt. Siguniangshan, Wolong National Nature Reserve (B, L, D)
After breakfast, you will go to Mt. Siguniangshan from Chengdu (230 km from Chengdu). On the way, you will visit Wolong National Nature Reserve, the earliest, largest and best-known panda reserve in China. You can see the cute giant pandas and take very close pictures of them. After driving over the Balang Mountain, you will get to Mt. Siguniangshan. On the way, you can enjoy the amazing scenery: cloud seas, high mountain grasslands and herds of sheep and cattle.
Day 3: Two-Bridge (Shuangqiao) Valley, Long-Peace (Changping) Valley (B, L, D)
Today you will visit two famous valleys in Mt. Siguniangshan: Two-Bridge (Shuangqiao) Valley and Long-Peace (Changping) Valley.
After breakfast, firstly, you will visit Two-Bridge (Shuangqiao) Valley, which is the most easily accessible valley with vistas of snowy peaks, pastures, grassland and forests. It is the most beautiful valley of Mt. Siguniangshan with three sections covering an area of 216.6 sq km (about 83.6 square miles).
After lunch, you will visit Long-Peace (Changping) Valley, which is long with gently sloping sides. In this valley, visitors enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and camping. The old cypress path, the Lama Temple, the lakes and the waterfalls are peaceful and secluded. Stay at Mt. Siguniangshan overnight.
Day 4: Balang Mountain (B, -, -)
After breakfast, you will be driven to Balang Mountain, which stands 5,040 m above sea level and is the only way which must be passed leading up to Mt. Siguniangshan. A three thousand meters further road runs zigzag high towards the sky. You can see different types of plants growig to adapt to the change in temperature, humidity, and air pressure etc. due to the change in altitude.
After this, you will be driven back to Chengdu and your personal guide will escort you to Chengdu Airport for your flight to your next destination.
